Is/was there a thread on removing part of the wing?

Seems like I've seen this, but can't remember - is there a way to remove the solid part of the wing just leaving the two vertical bars and the top portion of the wing? A quick glance at it makes it appear easily detachable, but looks can be deceiving.

It kind of looks like with that piece removed (I'm talking on the 987 model - not sure how similar it is to the 986), it would actually look like the Aero kit wing now offered by Porsche for the 987.

Any suggestions or a reference to the previous link would be nice - search function didn't work for me.

The top "painted" part of the wing is secured on by the "solid" piece. If you remove the black solid piece, all you will have is just two bars and no wing :)

Removal is easy, just remove the three plastic rivots (by pushing them in) and the painted part can be pulled off.
Then if I can recall correctly, There is only two screws on top and you just slide the rest off.

The reverse to put it all back on.

edit: I've been told that it is the same process for both 986 and 987.
