Coolant leak up top?

Pulled the starter for maintenance and what do I see? A small sea of green on top of the engine near the oil cooler! I will need to investigate further but off the top, any obvious spots to check?
Thanks. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1423489067.jpg

the oil cooler for starters...

looks like you will need to replace the O-rings for the oil cooler.
not too complicated.

Hopefully it's just that! I don't suppose that the cooler itself breaks. I figured a hose or something.

 Is it necessary to drain the coolant in order to remove the oil cooler?

when i replaced the O-rings on my car as a preventive maintenance, i drained the coolant.
my assumption was that the cooler will be full of water, and you don't want to mix it with the oil.
that's how it looks when the cooler is removed.

Thanks for posting the pictures! I can easily see the reasoning behind a coolant drain.
Cheers!
