weird window rubber problem

I noticed the rubber weather strip outside of the window catches and curls down when I lower the window. This adds a lot of drag to the window motor. So... I'm wondering if anyone has a remedy or a DIY to replace the weather strip. I applied car wax to the window (to slick it up) which seems to help for a week or two, but the rubber may be chemically breaking down. WD40 perhaps? lol

Yes. I have the same issue with my 99.
When I'll have the time, I will try to apply some rubber softener and will report back.

Go to a drug store and buy a bottle of glycerene. It's a liquid you just wipe it on let it sit a while and wipe off any excess.

My 2000 box does the same thing.I fixed it with RainX.

I clean the outside and inside of the window very well and apply Rain X to both sides of the glass.

This usually lasts a couple of months dependent on how much the car sits outside.

The glass becomes super smooth and repels rain and does not drag the rubber

Thanks for the reminder as mine is past due!

RainX worked like a charm. Hopefully it'll quit dragging the rubber for awhile. Thanks!!! Chris

Great! Now I need to do mine as it's been a while.

i used Pelican Parts.com - 1Z Gummi Pflege Rubber Protection and it works better, but i will try the Rainx as well.
