Incredible Commercial - NPC
Hi,
Read the article then click on the link BELOW. The film took 606 takes. On the first 605 takes, something, usually very minor, didn't work. They would then have to set the whole thing up again. The crew spent weeks shooting night and day. The film cost six million dollars and took three months to complete including full engineering of the sequence. It is two minutes long It is fast becoming the most downloaded advertisement in Internet history. Honda executives figure the ad will soon pay for itself simply in "free" viewings (Honda isn't paying a dime to have yo! u watch this commercial!). When the ad was pitched to senior executives, they signed off on it immediately without any hesitation - including the costs. There are six and only six hand-made Accords in the world. To the horror of Honda engineers, the filmmakers disassembled two of them to make the film. Everything you see in the film are parts from those two cars. When the ad was shown to Honda executives, they liked it and commented on how amazing computer graphics have gotten. They fell off their chairs when they found out it was for real. http://www.steelcitysfinest.com/HondaAccordAd.htm Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
Clever! But is it real, I mean, really real?
Ok, sprockets to cam, to exhaust to valves, to dip stick to radiator, to wheels... Here's what I don't get... those wheels appear to be rolling up an incline from a stand still?!? Am I seeing that correctly? Also, that must have been a huge studio! PS Check it out at Google Videos.. You can pause and rewind to specific parts... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6006084025483872237&q=honda+commercial&pl=true |

Man, you guys just saw this, this is really old, and yes it is real. The wheels roll up the incline because the have weights inside (i.e. imagine weights on the top of the and it's perfectly centered but then something nudges it forward, the wheel will spin to counterbalance the weight

Uh yeah, welcome to last year, no wait, like 4 years ago hhahah..
Yes this is totally real. But it's two different shoots connected together, they couldn't make the whole thing go seamlessly so they connected two different shots. Regards, |
