Mismatched Vin Numbers

I noticed an add anomaly today when adding a porsche a pen with the owners manual and books. I noticed that the vehicle identification sticker inside of the cars service log (just like the one on the underside of the hood) was for s different car! The book is full of stamps from the dealer that is also listed on the window stickers, which the vin on the window sticker matches the vin on the car itself.

I just found this odd, any speculation for why there is another vehicles sticker in my service log?

Which matches VIN plate on vehicle: one on sticker under hood or the one in manual? That'll tell you which is not correct. If neither does then both may have been replaced.

:)

Window sticker, door, under hood. And vin plate all match. The service log identification sticker is the only mismatch, I noticed it when I saw an A in the vin, which would indicate a base car.

The service book is from a different car

Only issue is, the stickers line up perfectly with the cars history, if it came from a different car, it got swapped very early on.

Vin # is identical except for the 'A'?

Did you verify the services that are listed in te book? If so, the book got swapped a long time ago and they just entered the info in the book you have for your car
