Suspension bits & pieces..

I have a random clunk, slow speeds, uneven surfaces, left rear. Not drive train.

Do drop links get replaced or new bushings? Sway bar bushings typically replaced?

Trailing arms get new joints or new arms?

How long can a Box be on jack stands? 2 weeks? Thinking of doing my clutch finally and want to weld on proper flanges in place of those dumb slip joints on the exhaust besides the rear bushings.

I have had mine on jackstands for 2 weeks at a time, over Christmas 2013 and earlier this year when doing WP/Thermostat/UDP, with no ill effects. This last time was closer to 3 weeks.

Had exactly same problem. Replaced trailing arms and drop links. No more "rattle"

So am I right? (All rear end)

The trailing arm / control arm can just get new bushings?

The track arm needs to be replaced because of the ball joint?

Drop links get swapped whole?

Replace sway bar bushings while its removed?

Any other tests or checks to do while the rear is torn apart?

Are the brake flex hoses original?

I'll bet so. Braided! Sweet.

Maybe caliper repaint, but my list is super long now.

All good points about what may be the cause of the noise you're hearing. If your drop links are original, consider repacing those first. The links are not that expensive relative to other suspension components and are very easy to change.

My 2000S developed a clunk up front last winter. With 120K miles on the clock, I figured that I had a bad strut or strut mount. I pulled the wheel and found torn boots on my drop link. I had drop links on hand and replaced them on both sides. Noise gone!

Braided are not original.

Sorry, I'll upgrade to braided.

I want to go the shotgun route and throw parts everywhere to freshen things up.

If you really want to go full tilt on the suspension.
