Clutch pedal travel

I haven't been able to find any info about normal clutch pedal travel.

My 99 is biting earlier in pedal travel and it is harder to put in gear. I'm looking for leaks currently but my pedal is also no longer hitting the carpet and I can't remember if it did hit the carpet before (and there are marks on the carpet like it used to hit it). So I'm curious if any other clutch pedals in a 99 hit the carpet when fully depressed.

Thanks

iis it harder to push in?
If so, the clutch booster spring may have broken
It's a very easy DIY to replace

Not measurably harder, by my foot gauge.

Is the booster spring the spring attached to the pedal going inside that tube right near the clutch switch?

My pedal will stop traveling about .75" away from the carpet. If I push harder, I can see the clutch plunger push further into its sleeve the firewall, but I can't easily push the pedal into the carpet now.

Does the spring limit the pedal travel when it's broken?

yes, it is inside a "tube" it help push the pedal down
I don't think it would limit the travel if it was broken, just make it harder to push and would come up quicker/harder

Does anybody's clutch hit the carpet?
