2001 dash lights,tach,speedo not working

Hello everyone. I have a 2001 boxster s and for reasons unknown the whole dash cluster isn't working. The only thing on it working is the illumination for the odometer and the odometer itself. Events leading to this: the car sits more than it's driven. I went to start it and the battery was dead so I did the emergency opening of the hood at the fuse box to get the hood opened. Finally got it opened and charged the battery up started it and that's it. There's no dash lights, speedo, tach nothing. Hoping maybe one of you have ran into this somewhere before.

Thanks
Jimmy.

The first thing I would do is check for a blown fuse. My friend did the same procedure for the emergency hood opening and popped the fuse at the back of his radio.

Good luck.

As well as the fuse, the problem could also be a failing ignition switch. If you have had difficulty inserting / removing your ignition key or it just feels different, you have a failing switch. Do a search and spend a couple of hours reading up....

Hello,
Did you find a solution on this yet? I have the same problem today- 2001 Boxster S, battery was dead last night - I did not use the emergency hood open procedure tho- I just put my car on my trickle charger through the lighter socket. Today I was able to start the car, but same weirdness. Cluster seems mostly in-op, other than the Odometer.

OK. I fixed it. Essentially I reset the cluster. I had checked the fuse (Row B, number 1) and it was fine. SO. I pulled it again, and then turned the car on. Then turned it off - Reinserted the fuse and then tried again. Everything is now working normally. Hope this helps someone.
