[996] Is this original or sportsystem?
http://2.ii.gl/P6l17iHWU.jpg
Found this for sale, for a 996 3.4 / 3.6. Is this original or stainless sport system? My eyes can't tell... On another note: I'm interested in getting a better exhaust sound from my 996 -98 with a low budget. Is it worth it to only replace the mufflers to stainless or is it a waste of money? Shoul I rather save for a proper full exhaust system, or is it worth it to go with just replacing the mufflers? Thanks in advice! With kind regards, Jonathan. |
Perhaps go for a PSE hack/mod?
Like below but with a smaller pipe. (to not get hated by the neighbours) http://4.ii.gl/cBLCM-Bzp.jpg |
Those are not factory mufflers. Also, just from the pics, they look like they are for the 02-04 cars that have the exhaust tips more inwards on the bumper.
For just sound (no performance gain), the Gundo or Fister hack is the best bang-for-the-buck route. |
I've been talking to a few people on rennlist and googled alot. It seems like the Fister hack is the better one regarding to them. But with all the homemade builds etc I've seen while google it, I've managed to mix them up.
Are you able to find me pictures of a Fister hack on a 3.4? So I can try it myself / show the person helping me. Edit: Found this on their website, but says for 3.6. Would the 3.4 be the same? I mean exactly the same? And what pipe size would you reccomend for fister? Sorry for all the questions, but I rather ask than over search. The technical english is quite hard to understand when it's not your native language. http://fdmotorsports.net/wp-content/...6-mufflers.jpg |
I love the 986forum, but for 996 stuff, you want to check out a couple of other places:
For all things 996: 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa) - RennTech.org Forums For Fister: FD Motorsports » Fister Exhaust – 996 My Review on Fister-D Exhaust. *AMAZING* - 6speedonline.com Forums Mufflers for a 3.6 will not fit an early 3.4. The exhaust tips won't match the openings in the rear bumper. |
