Need some Advice

Hi Forum,
Im a new owner of a 99' 2.5 90K was well looked after..I purchased in Oct drove to Fla and back no problem..I live in NYC and leave it in a Parking garage..they are not supposed to move the car..the short story is..there is an issue with a leak in the brand new roof..I think it may be an error in the install..anyways, there was a lot of water under passenger seat, under drivers seat was dry..I vacuumed it all out and left in Parking garage with roof down to air dry it as much as it would...returned 3 weeks later after vacation and the car was moved and they had put the top up..I went to start car and it was completely dead..no ignition lights nothing..it also seemed a little more difficult than usual to get the key in the lock..it did turn all the way round tho and nothing..I popped the hood with the cable release on floor and i tried to jump start the car and still nothing..not even ignition lights..I was puzzled with he fact that i didn't get ignition lights so i then assumed it wasn't the battery maybe..I was going to get a new battery and replace the electrical part of the ignition..any suggestions on where I should start? does this sound like a good idea so far? or could the leak under the passenger seat be the possible cause..i also realize the guy working there could be a boy racer and took it for a spin, thus the top being put back up for some reason.. and messed up the ignition possibly..any input would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
