I'd like to see a third column showing the Boxster Spyder (now that some can be had in the low $50K's). The two were if I'm not mistaken the lightest cars made by the brand in their respective years. And for all added weight of modern safety requirements, the curb weight of the Boxster Spyder is very similar to the 14 years older 2.5 Boxster. Meanwhile power at 320 HP puts the Boxster Spyder in rare Porsche company as even the flagship base 911 didn't cross 320 HP until very recently. With the $400K left over (instead of buying the RS 73) you can buy a modest mortgage-free house.:D |

To comment on your posts, this is my 3rd Boxster. I started with a highly optioned 2001 base then a 2001 S. This 2004 SE far nicer inside but it's still a 986. All drove the same just power difference.
In my opinion because of all the extras they put in an SE it's worth more than a 2004 S, how much is debatable but I'd say $2000-$4000. |
