Side Marker at Front Wheel Well

The little orange side marker on the front of the car..............is it just a "parking" light or should it work as a turn signal and hazard light? Mine only illuminates when I turn the lights on. If I signal or hazard, it will not iluminate. Is this normal?? Mark

It's just a marker light. You can make it act as a turn signal by splicing its wire to the headlight wiring. There's a hack out there that someone else might have a link to.

Hi,

Converting to Euro lighting is pretty easy. I did it myself for under $4 in materials. The Sidemarker flashes in unison with the Turn Signal Indicator with the Lights Off and in opposition when the Lights are On.

I did this several years ago to my Esprit and using the Boxster schematics, figured how to get the same effect from the Boxster. Took about 30 min. - Works great!

After all my Trial and Tribulation, I found this hack: http://wa4ekg.home.att.net/996mods/sidemarkermod.html which is exactly how I did mine - great minds do sometimes think alike ;) Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
