who are good used parts vendors ?

I am in need of some items from a 2005 and up Boxster/Cayman. I have asked Woody and he doesn't have anything newer than 2003. So are there some good used parts vendors dare I say junk yards ? :D I have placed a WTB ad here and on Pelican but so far no luck.

There's been occasions where we simply couldn't get parts here in Asia, or it just wouldn't have made any sense to order them from the dealer (+$). My Indy regularly ask me to give him a hand with his French and task me to locate some parts from overseas. Think I'm on my forth engine import now lol

Give those chaps a quick call, they got sale teams and the inventory on screen most of the time. At least you shouldn't waste too much time if they don't have what you are looking for (which would surprise me a lot).

Around here there are two decent used Porsche parts places:

Whaletail Canada - New and Used Porsche Parts and Service - Home
Nineapart Home - Used Porsche Parts - Porsche Recycling Facility

For some stuff they are reasonably priced and other stuff I find you might as well go buy new.

ebay

2005 06 07 08 Porsche Boxster s Air Cleaner Box 98711002100 | eBay

08 Porsche 987 Cayman s Cold Air Intake Tube 987 110 227 00 37 861 | eBay

note that the 987 has a longer plenum than the 986/99x, so the 987 tube from maf to plenum won't reach unless you change to a 987 plenum as well.

When I had my 944 I used to buy from Ian and his crew, When I was trying to sell my 944 I advertized it on their board only to have a bunch of his regular posters became the biggest set of A Holes ever. I have refused to deal him him since.

A shameless plug for Oklahoma Foreign.
I try to coordinate parts shopping with trips to the US to save myself a crap ton on shipping.

I don't normally recommend eBay sites, but I recently came across qualityporscheparts on eBay. They have some great Porsche parts and are more than fair in accepting offers on their BIN listings. I just bought a 996 cluster and leather 996 surround from them. Great price and fast delivery. I'll write up a thread on the mod when I complete it.

+1 for Itsanova. Woody is probably the best on this board. His prices are GREAT, and he ships fast. It doesn't get any better.
