Wheel Bearing Replacement - What can go wrong ?

Hi ... I have a 2000 2.7 with approx 86K kms on the OD. I am very sure there are a couple of wheel bearings that need replacement. I get the typical sounds when turning a corner and the road noise is obvious. I'm in Toronto and store the car in the winters (usually about mid Nov). I've put quite a bit of $$ into the car this year (transmission and IMS bearing) and I'm considering putting the bearing replacement off until next spring. My question is what could possibly go wrong if I drive the car for the next 3 weeks without replacing the bearings. My tires already have 15K + on them so if they wear I'm not overly concerned ... what other risks do I run ?

you can likely put it off until the spring...... of course that is not a guarantee and if it gets worse you'll know

You'll be fine. It's just noise telling you that they're needing attention. Put it away, read up on it and do it next spring. This is a low $$ DYI as the bearings are $40-$50 each. Labor can be expensive as theirs some time involved in the R/R.

Might be a good DIY project and keep you bonded with your car over the winter.
You will have plenty of time to get it done

Absolutely ... I've been searching the old threads and trying to figure out where I can get the right tools to to this job. Lots of good advice in the archives.
