actuallly I tried to put 11" Rims on in the back, just like many 996's and they were too big. Without putting the wide body rear kit with spacer you cant fit more then 10" on the factory setup

I will post a bunch of pics, maybe some sound bites and if I can get a video cam maybe some footage in the future.

Yippee!

Well, my car should be finished (hopefully by the end of the month) and I am too excited also! Good to know I am not the only fanatic that gets so excited about his car! I am so glad to see the decisions you made, make it your baby (one of a kind)...

Off topic: Yeah, in the begining of Decmber I am going on a road trip with the updated ride. Going to Myrtle Beach, SC(about 5.5 hours from here) to enjoy some top down tempatures and go play some golf for a few days. I am looking forward to 4-5 days at the beach with it, maybe do some racing

Back to topic: While car is at shop having other work performed, I decided to buy new tires and went with the Michelin Pilot Sport, 235 40 18 , with the "V" tread and 275 35 18, with the "W" Tread in the back. And the tires fit without any trouble in the lower profile, with car having H&R springs and Bilstein adjustable shocks. I would hesitate going any larger though.

Hey Jay, those are great wheels! I've always loved those TechArt wheels, classic look Porsche look with silver rims and black spokes.

Did you happen to weigh the wheel/tire combo before you mounted them? I just weighed my standard '01 17" OEM wheels--mounted with Kumho 712's they are approximately 48 lbs rear, 10 lbs front. (I put on my snow set, 16" OEM, mounted with Dunlop M2 snows they are just 41 lbs rear, 38 lbs front)

Believe it or not I did... LOL

They are weighty wheels because of the size... But, I was pleased to get 40 lbs front/ 48 lbs rear

The wheel size is 18x8.5 (front) 18x10.5 (rear)
I am running Pirelli P-zero on them (front)225/40 ZR18 (rear)265/35 ZR18

Although, I forgot what my stock 16" wheels were but it was far lower! :-)

I hope I helped!

Jay

Jay,

Are you saying those weights are with the tires or without? If it includes the tires those are quite light considering the size!

I think the lightest 18" I'm aware of are the stock Carerra 5 spokes. Don't remember where I saw the numbers, though.

Yes, those were the weights with the tires... Light for the size, yes... But, a lil' weighty overall, but I still love 'em! TechArt has always impressed me...
