Boxster S door scripts
Cant decide if I wanna chuck out $120 for these at the dealer. so I pshopped them very half-ass onto my car. opinions? :rolleyes:http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1412866275.jpg

I'm generally not in favor of side graphics on Boxsters because I like the clean, flowing lines. However, if you do decide to do it, be sure to keep the script at least 1" above the lower door seam, and 1" or 2" back from the vertical seam, otherwise the elements will conflict.

The paint job looks great. How about moving the script back behind the door?http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1412866971.jpg

Just looked on the config. They do put them a little further from the seams than I pshopped them.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1412867187.jpg

Personally, I like the look of the big ==Porsche== running all along the bottom - but as you are going for something more subtle, I like the look of it at the back. It fits nicely in the panel after the door, whereas on the door itself it get's lost. It looks like an add on vs. something that looks more 'in it's place' behind the door below the vent. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I bet you could find a local printer to make those for less than half the dealer's cost.

I have seen some folks that have done a good job with the font; there is a car that says "Boxzilla" in a very nice boxster like font that I saw at Sebring. He is on this forum as well. There are a lot of places that have the original style PORSCHE font but I have never found the new "cursive look" font. Steve |
$120 from the dealer seems excessive. I have seen similar decals on eBay for $10-20. While I am not a huge fan of decals in general, I think the black underneath the side intakes looks good with black rims.

Naked is always the best (well unless you consider some of the people on nude beaches, that is Felony Naked)

OP, I'm curious as to why you would want any Boxster S badging at all, when the car is obviously a base model?
Just wonderin'........... TO |

Johnny Danger used to ask the forum about stripes and badging on the Danger Mobile. He often got suggestions such as this:
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01/OKB1412911709.jpg I agree with some of the others, this decal looks kind of tacky to me. DBear |

OK that is funny
"Kind of like a chick asking if a dress makes her look fat. Spend the money. Apply the decal in the stock position."

It is you car and you should do whatever you want to it. Make it yours and original. Threads tend to go off topic her and on every board I am on....don't take offense.
I am a relatively new Boxster owner , but it would seem that most of us spend so much time in this labor of love (sometimes hate) keeping these cars up and running we tend to blow off steam. I started a new job last month and one fo the guys asked me "What's it like owning a Porsche?"...kinda like a very pretty girl, buy in is not so bad but the maintenance is tough. I have already spent 3 times the money on my Boxster in less than 2 years I have on my E36 in the 5 years I have owned it....but I do love my car. Make you car yours.....decal, wrap, paint, fuzzy dice or whatever you want. Sincerely Dwight |
