The saga continues
The saga just seems to never end. I finally got my car back from the Porsche Certified repair facility. I had to pay for towing back and will be suing the other guys insurance company for reimbursement. After they unloaded my car I took a look at it and found a small issue.

how the hell did they manage to do that?
BTW, great color match on your license plate to the car color |
I have no clue if that was from the accident or if it was done when they put things back together??? I am baffled that they let it leave the shop like that.
I've always thought that the FL Plate color matched the car well, most people don't notice it. |
In addition to the color, that's one of the best plates I've seen. Personalized, but at first glance doesn't look it....
I'll be in Key West all next week, I hope I see the car, and I hope they fix it for you properly. |
I'll bet that the shop missed seating the body coloured spoiler cover properly on the black metal spoiler frame. I've done it on mine... it's a 10 minute fix, at most.

It's the Elvis Presley tribute mod... gives it some swagger.

Ain't nothing but a hound dog. Sorry about the sploiler. hopefully it's a quick fix as suggested by other poster. |
What does 'EYW' stand for?
|
tomonomics, Stop in and say hello, I'm at Vino's on Duval or Grand Vin on Upper Duval every Friday Night. Just ask for the guy with the green Porsche.
Ebell914 EYW is the airport code for Key West International Airport. BoxsterSteve, exactly how easy is this to fix? anyplace you can guide me to for more info would be very helpful |
That looks like it's bent, doubtful it is simply a seating issue.
|
seating issue... happened to mine a couple times .... they probably missed the hole with one of the plastic inserts under the spoiler. Raise the spoiler manually and check it out.
its a pretty flexible piece of plastic. |

Hopefully that's all it is. If not, you'll have to take it back and  . Holy crap, what's it take to put a customer's car back together properly? |
Paint those bumperettes.....

looks like you have some hazing in the back window or maybe its just fog. Either way this is the go to product when you need clarity, good on headlights, tailights, your helmet visor, etc.

Today very little progress was made on this. I did raise the spoiler and look at it. It does not appear bent other than the top piece except that it does not raise all the way on the passenger side. Almost like it is binding. The insurance company is less than helpful other they at least today everyone admits there is a problem. The insurance company wants to send me a check based on the pictures to fix it. I am more than uncomfortable about that since when they had the car in front of them they couldn't get it right. They also admit that this is not my fault but refuse to pay to have my car taken back to the mainland to be fixed. As one of my friends said "you could have had that job done here" (meaning on island) At this point I'm turning it over to my lawyer and letting him argue. It will end up costing me I'm sure. I have now also let me insurance agent know that Flo and I are no longer friends and to look for other options. My big issue is this work was done in a Porsche Certified Facility. I will be sending pictures to Porsche and showing them the work that was done by Stuttgart International Auto Body In Ft. Lauderdale Fl.
PerfectLap, Thanks for the link I have ordered a bottle. |
Oh and I like the bumperettes black on my car. I think it goes with the green nicely. On others color cars I think the painted does look good.

What it is good for though is a side-by-side comparison between painted and unpainted trim. Now, honestly - which looks better? (Yeah, it's a bad angle). http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1412978338.jpg |

I have Arctic Silver and I much prefer black bumperettes, it gives it some contrast |
