People of means driving nicer cars are typically in a better position financially to hire lawyers to have tickets dismissed and are generally more knowledgable about traffic courts than a younger driver of lower means and less knowledge. And I'm sure the police are more likely to cut a businessman with a clean driving record a break than a high school kid out to do his best impersonation of Justin Beiber behind the wheel. Point being this study doesn't accurately reflect the probability (as a % of those cars on the road) of a driver getting followed and stopped. And it also might lead one to forget the obvious: that as a % of the motoring population, there simply aren't that many Porsche on the road to begin with. |

Yes, yes. But regardless of your opinions and poking at this study... I still await PL or Giller to produce a competing study. I mean (Giller), your complaint is that the posted study just asked people - how is your statement any different than the people asked it the study? Flawed as it may be, you haven't provided anything to back your position up. "That's just like your opinion, man." Just sayin.

Full List: Cars Most Likely To Get A Ticket - Forbes They actually use traffic DATA from insurance companies. Is it a perfect study - no. Certainly more accurate than previous one. Did you author that study? It sure seems to have gotten your knickers in a knot all these people disagreeing with it. Sorry if we hurt your genius feelings. |
Giller you are correct. It's a survey, and Cfos was trying to use it to further some point about Porsche drivers and their interactions with law enforcement. I think a study of supermarket data regarding favorite ice cream flavor would have carried more weight. Then he challenged us to produce something to contradict this survey as if his quoted survey was something beyond anecdote (rife with problems). His challenge is asking us to say "I see you one opinion survey and raise you a bigger opinion survey".
Then he posts a picture of a drag queen which is a total non sequitur. |
As a causal observer, cfos, sure seems like one bitter individual. For some reason.
On a different note, if I'm speeding and get a ticket I wouldn't say a word because I would know I deserved it. |

But I digress, what I was merely asking for was PL or Giller to back up their assumptions with... something other than attitude. I admitted that what I cited may not be accurate. Which is fine. Giller's post is from 2010. Maybe there really isn't anything out there on the topic. But, in explanation of my actions, I thought I might make an example of how I perceived their behavior. Having been to parts of Canada, I fell in love with the Couche Owl, and having been to NJ, I'm aware of the prevalence of orange people. Does that mean that these are the dominate gas stations and people of both areas? I dunno. Could be, but that's just my opinion, backed by Google: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps596a6ab5.jpg After asking again and again, Giller provided a valid critique and did post something, yet I still don't see any Porsches on this "better" study. So, again, I do not believe this Porsche profiling to exist as much as others would lead us to believe. I also like to think that people should drive responsibly - and that's the real tragedy. Compare the posts that raise alarm over 20 mph over a limit in a residential zone to, " damn Porsche get so many tickets and I feel your pain and don't cops know we are great drivers with well-built cars who know what we are doing." Ok, maybe that is a slight exaggeration. ;) |

I related my experiences with the police in car A vs. car B. Another forum member added that he experienced similar in his region of the country. He also did not have to "back up" his experience. Your experience is your experience. Then you came along and inferred that I was making an argument about the broader pool of Porsche drivers by posting a link to a survey that casts a wider net than my own region (or Husker's). Unsurprisingly, more than one person decided to point out to you that your Google search result link was not at all a study or driven by official data. Did all the survey respondents "back up" their experience? Otherwise you wouldn't have posted it, right? You see what you did there? So not only did you invent an argument, that no one was making, you decided to argue against it with not very good "back up". However you did establish that you like posting pictures when attempting to make your points. But in your defense, at least it makes your invented arguments more amusing. |

See below if you don not want the Forbes click bait version. There's also a second list as well: Least likely to be tickted according to their analysis. Auto Insurance Analysis Does What We Drive Affect How We Drive Interesting to note, four of the top 10 cars in their 2009-2010 analysis were German. While on the 10 least likely to be ticketed there weren't any German cars. Meanwhile 2 American cars were on the most likely list, 7 American cars on the least likely list. |

What I glean from this whole topic - Speeders tend to drive fast, sporty cars....but just because you drive a fast, sporty car, that does not make you a speeder. |

But you are right, right? I do like to invent arguments and I do find them (and myself) amusing. I mean, what else is the internet for? Seriously -- look at how many hits this thread gets. Pure entertainment. http://qph.is.quoracdn.net/main-qimg...t_to_webp=true |

Hey, I'm still kind of craving one of those Volvos! I have shifted interest to an Alfa Romeo and a gal I know now though; both of these are very expensive, so I have actually been putting in a few applications. Nice post though, made me laugh. |
