How many times.....
Have you gotten wet? Wondering how many Kramer-esq moments people have had where you know it's going to rain, but by god, I'll beat it and be in the garage before it starts and I'll be darned if I'm going to stop and put the roof up!
You know, like the old Seinfeld episode - how far can you go on empty? |
I've gotten soaked a couple of times. Isn't it kind of a rite of passage?
I found that under about 50 mph rain won't get in the car. I did a convertible relay hack so I can put up the top without stopping or pulling the e-brake so long as I'm under 20-25 mph. Or just drive really fast... |
I get more water in the car from the window leak where it meets the seal on the top than any other source. (Except paint. A full gallon of paint in the frunk is the most moisture I've had)

One day it started to drizzle just as I put the e break back down from dropping the top, at that point I was determined, a bit wet from the small amount of traffic but once on the road, driving a bit fast managed to keep me dry, got her in the garage just before the bottom fell out.

driven through a few down pours, kept her at about 110 km/h. The only problem is the water runs off the windshield over to the side windows and then over the window into the cab >.<

We don't get rain in San Diego, so its not an issue
 |
Eh, only once or twice I think. Mainly was caught out on the Interstate because I thought I could beat the storm. Oops. :D
|
Ever notice how the air smells different just before the rain gets going? And I watch the cars in the opposite direction for their headlights and wiper action......as an early warning sign.

Black car with Black interior in Southern California, the rain vaporizes on contact. ;)
Any that gets on me is considered moisturizing skin therapy. |
I tried too out run a rain cloud one day on the highway - well lets just say the Boxster S would need many more S's to out run that rain cloud... lol... The automatic top felt like it took 2 hours to close that day! haha.... lesson learned.
|
I've found that even when it's barely raining out, if I open the window at all the wáter seems to flow right into the car. Must be the shape of the windsheild.
|
Once, but I've only owned it for 1 month.
|
Can't wait to find out! Rumor has it that it might rain next year. The state is working on a way to tax us for free car washes.
