Do you look at your car in reflections?

On a shiny car?

On a glass building?

Do you crouch forward to see your wheels and ride in motion?

I once saw my car's reflection in one of those curved shiny tanker trucks. It scared the hell out of me - it looked like the front bumper was hanging off due to the image distortion. Major WTF moment but all was fine.

Yes

Yes

I try but the car sits so low I can never see the wheels very well.:(

Always!.....one of my favourites is the reflection at the downtown Porsche dealer, seeing my reflection while sneaking a peek at the new cars.

No. I dont drive by anything reflective. :)

yes ... i try on the highway .. (but never successful) to see if my spoiler has gone up or not at speed :D ... ive got a serious impression that my spoiler never goes up ... except for when its getting a bit bored and sticks out for fresh air ..... and doesnt go down even when i turn the car off.

I even take pics of the reflections some days lol unfortunately the silver doesn't reflect the blue very well :)

Yes.

Funny this got posted today. Just yesterday I was admiring the Guards Red as I drove away from a fast food joint.

I'm glad I'm not the only vain person. I also listen for the sound reflected from buildings and barriers. The car sound off Armco at 5500 - 6500 is superb.

Deserion 08-27-2014 07:05 AM

You're damned right I look. :D

Only on glass buildings to check the operation of all the tail light bulbs.

Old-timer trick.........;)

hells yeah!!!

I look at ME in my car in the reflection. Somehow, I look 20 years younger. :)

amitmishra4 08-27-2014 12:37 PM

Funny you should bring it up. All the time, and especially more in my Audi to make sure the CCFL lights around the headlights are still working. I am just nervous that one day I will find it dead.

Fintro11 08-27-2014 01:48 PM

I am a firm believer if you want to slow down a Porsche line a bunch of mirrors along the side of the road.

I always slow right down beside buildings with reflective windows :)

embryoguy@mac.com 08-28-2014 04:28 PM

yes when possible

#1 - This is a great post. With all the posts on this and other forums I don't believe I've ever come across this topic. But yet I'm sure there's many (including myself) that identify with this phenomenon

#2 - Heiko, outstanding photo with the reflection in the door. I'd like to know what process and products you're using to put that kind of shine on your car

#3 - My own input on the matter... you're damn right I look. Buildings yes, but the unicorn is when you come across one of those vans that have the specialized carrying apparatus for glass or mirrors along the side of the vehicle. When they're carrying large mirrors you can drive along side of them and they sit down low so you can see your car in full view with perfect clarity. Problem is, most of them are carrying glass and not mirrors, and even the glass carriers are rare to come across
