Weight

Hi guys,

I just realized today that the 986 is almost 3000 lbs, and the 996 is about the same weight. Moreover, weight-wise and power-wise, the Boxster doesn't have that much more power/torque or less weight compared to other cars such as Subaru WRX, Honda Accord, Honda Prelude, etc. However, the Boxster still feels pretty quick to me for some reason. Just some thoughts I was thinking about!

Flat-6 = Linear HP/torque curve & short gearing makes the difference.

Those Honda V6 are really tuned for daily driving so they top out at 4-5k and with more low end torque. Long gearing also do not help.

You also sit much lower than any of those cars so you get the sensation of traveling faster.

Add a low center of gravity and a pretty good suspension and it makes the Boxster pretty quick -- maybe not FAST but quick if you keep your momentum.
