OMG that sucks

Timco 08-22-2014 02:41 PM

And I just found out today I have an ulcer. This does not help.

Perfectlap 08-22-2014 02:50 PM

same thing happened to me in the rear trunk with a bottle of Griot's Garage Wax.
I didn't notice it unitl it had dried. I just threw a hefty bag over it and went on with my day. I'll order a carpet or find one on Ebay.

Neither one of those is good.

rijc99 08-22-2014 03:54 PM

Get a big clear plastic storage container from Walmart and put that as a liner in your frunk. Thats what I use for take out, paint, groceries, etc.

My day was great! My replacement engine is on its way today. Stupid IMS!

Yeah, he's okay. He left when it was smoking and then it just went up in flames soon after

I saw another 911 catch on fire like that a couple years ago on my way home. It was a air cooled 911 though. What caused that kind of fire? So I guess we all need to add a fire extiguisher in the cabin? :(

Thanks Chuck & RP.

It explains the horrific cramping that left me immobilized on the basement floor last night. Brought tears to my eyes, and I've cut my finger tip off with less pain. This was my 3rd attack in 3 months and I have not even had a cold in 10+ years now.

As for the paint, I'm thinking insurance claim, total front & rear bumper re-spray, new rear tires, and an IMS.

Sorry to see about ulcer and frunk. Your humor is intact (this one gets me every time)

And oh boy is there any knowledge of why that happened, last time I check the jd power best initial quality does not have a check box for spontaneous combustion. Hopefully they won't recall every last one of them :/

I would take it to a car wash and go at it full blast for a few mins. Then let it soak? Insurance thing sounds like a good bet.

Now close your eyes and open them thinking this is your wheel...

Now thats fubar like the 911.

Bought a gallon of paint from a local hardware store last week and as I reached to put it on the floor of the passenger side, it dumped on my lap, the seat, the center console, and spattered on the door panel. They admit the lid wasn't attached properly, but they're not sure that it's their responsibility since I had left the store and it happened in THEIR parking lot. First bid was $8,000.
