During my obsessive researching prior to purchasing my 986, I read a quote from a road test that said something like, "sure, there are other cars within this price range, just don't try to convince yourself that you'll be getting something "just as good"."
I think that's a pretty powerful and true statement.
What should you get? If I were in your situation, I would look for a used 911 (circa 1999+). There are some pretty reasonable deals out there. I love my 986, but I'll probably upgrade to a used 911 for more leg room. And I guess the Hp increase would be okay...
