Drivers window drop- Not working

Hello everyone i am new to the Porsche world.

I recently purchased a 2000 boxster for my wife for our anniversary.

The window worked fine when picked up and now it will not drop to open door.

Here is what i have done and checked so far-

The convertible top when released will drop the windows.

The window switch's will run the windows properly.

If you trigger the door handles inside and out they will light the interior lights.

The door latch will turn the lights off if you manually flip the door latch.

Any help would be great!

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think there is more than one switch inside the door that moves the windows.
There is one inside the locking mechanism, and one near the handle.

I've had several of the ones associated with the locking mechanism go bad.

It's a PITA, but I got good at getting the door cards on/off.

I have tested both inner and outer door switches all work.

Just pulled the latch unit out and the one switch works also.

Is there more then one in the latch assembly?

Thanks for the help.

The problem you describe is classic for a broken window regulator. When you pull the latch, the excess cable slack in the broken assembly doesn't get taken up and the window doesn't drop enough to clear the top. When you open the top, I'll bet you find the window doesn't drop as much as the passenger side one does. The fix is to replace the regulator. There's another thread that discusses how to fix the problem without replacing the regulator but I don't have the link handy.

Yes I have ordered one, going to install soon. Now the only issue is I have a air bag light on due to removal and installing door panel.

So now to find a shop in ohio close to me to get that turned off.

Thanks

The regulator suggestion was not the way to go. Your description points to the micro switch on the inner door handle. There are threads about getting to it. Fairly common issue.

This micro switch senses the door handle moving and drops the window, then senses the door closing and sends it up again.

I have tested the inside handle switch. It will alluminat the interior light when pulled. So in my mind that means it is working.

Thanks
