repainting sport seats

I'm curious if anyone here has taken their plastic-back seats apart to refinish/repaint them.

I've seen a few repainted backs of seats and it looks nice but it seems like I will need to totally unwrap the backrest leather to remove the plastic for painting.

How do you take these seats apart?

Thanks

I have not taken mine apart yet...

had the seat out last week for other things and was looking at how it went together. I do plan on repainting the seatbacks and other "granite" finish parts in the interior in the next few months so I will look forward to you paving the way with your progress and being the guinea pig if you want to

I had the seat backs painted on my 993 turbo. The disassemble was over my head so I had an upholstery shop do it for me. IMHO, it is a worthwhile mod.
