I'm more of a Boxster guy than a "car" guy. I have a Casio watch with the band removed that I sometimes use as a pocket watch, when I really need to know what time it is ;). Not much need to know when you're retired :p! I do have to admit to having a weak spot for fine shotguns though, although they don't tell time very well!

Yes, just starting to get "into" watches. I am considering buying a Bell & Ross - I really like the simple/classic look and they are built like a tank.

I have the leather band. I have been searching for a titanium band, but don't want to buy a whole new watch to get one (and their support laughed at me when I called to try and buy one; they said they stopped making that watch a long time ago :) ) I love this watch.

I actually got two of them; I have a stainless with verdigris dial, and I also have a black one with black face. The stainless is the one I have been wearing since I got it, and the black one is new in box, I am going to try and sell it but there is another one on ebay right now so I am waiting for it to sell first. He keeps dropping the price, I may just hold on to it for a few years and if the Padron watch company name takes off, and once the first run of them sell off, then maybe I will sell it. I don't think it is any lighter than your citizen.

If you are looking for light and don't mind quartz (sounds like you don't) you should check out Skagen watches, very thin and light. A friend has one and it is pretty sweet.

Last time I was in downtown Seattle I went into a jewelry store that featured Bell & Ross and I was drooling; they are some *seriously* nice watches.

Last Christmas I got this watch for my girlfriend's son, not quite a Bell & Ross but in a similar style... For $15 it was a big hit :)

Speaking of a Tank - i have always wanted one of the Cartier Tank Watches. Gold with a brown leather band, sapphire othe winding stem.

I have seven Seikos, six of which are Kinetic and one is solar. Two of the Kinetics are the AutoRelay models.

I don't find any of them to be particularly heavy or oversized, but their titanium models are fairly light, however.

Watches are cool. I used to love wearing watches however, I felt that often times that's the first thing people would notice about me. So I stopped wearing them. In the investment business you see a lot of people wearing nice watches ($10K+ rolexes) so my, $500 or so watch just seemed really cheap in comparison and I didn't want it to define me anymore... plus the really big guys don't seem to really wear one...

But, I think my next watch is definitely going to be something that hooks up with my smart phone. I am liking the blue tooth g schock by casio but let's see what the "iWatch" is like.

I've only been into watches the last few years, but have already accumulated a collection of inexpensive chronographs and a few 'vintage' Tag and Tissot watches. Not a fan of the current 'massive face' watches, way too big for my wrist, and too heavy. I did splurge last year for a Tag Formula 1, which not so coincidentally matches my Seal Grey Box.

I was into watches. I had a special edition Michael Schumacher Omega, a few Tag Heuer and was about to buy a GMT Rolex. Then I snapped out of it before my bank account paid the price of watch fixation. I'm a big fan of the workmanship but not the outrageous margins for mass produced watches. For instance, Rolex make over a million watches a year and for what is basically a $700 watch in the case of Sub, you pay a monstrous mark up. True they hold value, but that's a silly argument for any luxury item, one these watch makers use to make out like bandits. However there are a few watches out there truly are limited in numbers with astonishing workmanship that command huge prices on resale. But those are watches that cost more than a luxury car and have to stay in a glass display box. I saw these AP, RM, etc. watches were popular with the World Cup soccer players via their Instagram postings.

I don't even wear a metallic watch anymore. I use a Polar Loop activity tracker that has an LED display for time, steps, calories consumed, % of daily activity. It pairs with a heart rate strap via bluetooh. Unfortunately its not ANT+ which would interface better with smartphone apps and bike computer headunits but that's another story.


Steve0x, I have one of those Invicta Rolex "homage" watches too. It's an automatic with a Sellita movement (who supply ETA).
I think I paid $220 for it on that WorldofWatches site from Florida. It was a flawless beater watch. It keeps excellent time.
I also bought a Rotary Mecanique for like $200 from them as well. Pretty insane prces for Swiss made watches.
Just shows you how marked up all these watches are. It's worse than the mattress industry.

I have a 100 dollar relic from khols or sears, I can not remember. Wouldnt mind a few more fairly cheap watches haha, I like it for its purpose and it can add to a look, wouldnt mind owning a few more. Do not think I would ever personally justify spending alot on a "good" one. Just a few different styles of analog watches is all I would need.

The only thing worthy of a Porsche is a nice Swiss watch. I love my 1986-vintage Rolex Oyster Datejust Perpetual. It is simple, runs like nothing other, and timeless. Much like the 986: simple, compared to newer Pcars....runs like nothing other (well, my S anyway ;o) )...and oh so timeless....
