Got my Secondary Cat pipes installed today.
 

Was it a bear...yes at times because I had not done this before. I spent 4 hours doing the drivers side first.....quite a bit of time talking about it's "Mother"

If you decide to do this make sure you get the pipe in place and attach the end to the muffler coupler first....I mean first or you will never get it to go together. The angle is so great you cannot pull the pipe back far enough to slip it into the coupler if it is bolted to the flange first. Bolt up to the muffler and leave the clamps loose, then bolt up the triangle flange to the cats and tighten, then go back and tighten up the couplers.

After I completed the job, cleaned all my tools and put them away I took it for a drive. The sound is a good bit deeper and meaner when you are at 6K , the transition to idle where you always get a bit of drone is deeper and better.

It revs up noticeably faster and I can tell a slight improvement in power. The pipes are huge compared to the pipes on the secondary cats. I could not believe how much the secondary Cats and heat shields weighed.

All in all this was money well spent IMHO as they still have the kit for $150 for members of this board.

I'm planning to get my bypass pipes and Circuit Werkes exhaust installed next week. Cant wait :dance:

You can do it yourself
 

Just take your time and use Kroil or PB Blaster on the bolts about an hour before you start the disassembly

it may also be prudent to order new exhaust clamps for the install. the amount of corrosion on the old ones was bad. also if I were to do the job again, I would also pull the exhaust manifolds. the nuts and bolts on the flange between the manifold and secondary cat pipes were so corroded they needed to be cut off, which was difficult on ramps to say the least.

I keep reading that people have to get theirs torched off ?

The bolts obviously had been hot, you can tell but a gear wrench and a slight spray of oil and all mine came right our...the clamps at the rear showed no sign of corrosion and came off easily....still shiny gold colored plating on the hardware.

Changed mine to Febspeed years ago and it ws not an issue...no rusted bolts or clamps and process went pretty easy. Sound great with my PSE modified muffler.
