Wheel center cap crests fall off!?

Hey All,

I lost a crest from my wheel center cap this week. Can these metal crests be replaced with another Porsche part, or do I need a new center cap for $65?

I'm kind of surprised the crest fell off, these center caps are genuine and only a few years old.

Does anyone happen to have a spare center cap crest in good condition?

Thanks in advance guys.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1403981710.jpg

Same problem here. Lost right rear crest in cap. Crest was silver and matched my hood emblem. Looks like a group buy of at least four of these would be in the works. My crest has no holes in it and is metal not plastic. Keep me posted.

Kids have been known to pry them off.

I hear you. I had set of the Porsche crest valve caps stolen in the parking lot of a very 'benign' area in Dutchess County, NY

Hey All,

I bought a set of 4 that were on eBay and look to be in great condition. So, I now have three available for anyone who needs them. Here's a link to my post with pictures in the classified section.

Allen - I haven't seen any of the silver/metal ones on boxsters, what wheels do you have?

Kevin, my original set is like the black & silver that you show on your site. They are plastic, Porsche original and made in Italy. All four are now on the car. The set I had I purchased on ebay and are all metal with the capture ring on the back, not prongs. The crests have no holes in them and are silver.

What are you asking for one?

I've had three fall off. Two of them I found on the garage floor. They used cheap glue.

Also lost one. Will eventually get around to using the style found on the 987s due to the missing crest and the rest looking nasty.

I lost one of my crests a few years ago...

found it hanging off and reglued it but it did not last long. I purchased a new painted metal crest off ebay for about $15. It might be a slightly snugger fit than the original but still fits in the recess. I had to use some jbweld epoxy to glue it back on.

Same here -- I only noticed yesterday, a couple of weeks after buying the car! I never noticed until now (unless it just fell off).

I suspect high pressure car washes are responsible for some these failures.

for about $15 you can get a set of knock off (Chinese) ones from e-bay. cheaper than one from the dealership. when purchased all were missing from my boxy.

the next set you get, rivet them to the center cap through the 2 holes on them.
