A little bit of mid engine love here, I really like the 911, but I like that Porsche is somewhat starting to see them as twins with different personalities rather than a little brother and a big brother.

a lovely bit of p-car propaganda indeed.

But Porsche should be a lot further along with regard to the Boxster Coupe in the motorsport arena. Once the Boxster Coupe won at Rolex 24 without any factory support whatsoever the bar had been set, this car is ready to race even if with a 997 "street" engine. At this point we should be seeing an entire division of Boxster/Cayman racing even if in the smaller series and races. The future is inevitable.

Jim Richards is a great driver but he's definitely drinking the kool-aide.
"Nothing ever goes wrong with Porsche cars, and if they do its the driver".
LOL. Except when the center locking wheels come off at the track in fast corner (DOH!), coolant pipes come off at the track and fry the $30K engine, or when a $150k car catches fire forcing a total worldwide recall. And should you fry the engine at the track, Porsche tell you to pound sand because warranty ends when you drive onto the track.
I also like the way he described PDK as being something other than an automatic transmission. "it does it all for you all you have to do is keep your foot on it". ground breaking.. But automatic transmissions are now the standard for non-amateur racing so we might as well tell the general public how much better they are for enthusiasts as the car makers gradually take away the option of more involved manual transmission. Hence this this was clever bit of Porsche propaganda for YouTube.
I sometimes wonder if there is anyone, journalist or blogger who isn't afraid to say what he really thinks of automatic Porsches.

That will be the day, when it is a cayman or Boxster cup car that wins Le Mans gt class
