Are there any high mileage owners in here?

Hi everyone,

Just want to say "hi" to everyone.
I just bought a used 97 with Sport touring package. It was a deal that I did not want to miss :p .
I am just curious to see if we have any high mileage in the house :D

Mine is 63K miles on it.

I'm looking to get a used Boxster soon. 63k is not bad for a 1997. Was it well taken care of and properly maintained? That's very important. How much did you pay for it? To be on the safe side I suggest you get an extended warranty incase anything goes wrong.

The condition of the car was in mint condition. I test drove it and notice the engine is still pulling very strong. i am thinking of keeping this car for awhile. My next step will be upgrading it with the performance parts.

I did not get any extended warranty at all since I know the owner quiet well :-) .

I got it below 20k.

Not a bad deal. I found a yellow boxster with the hardtop and only 40k for $20k. I'm still searching for the "catch". I'm planning on buying close to x-mas time becuase prices of sports cars drop over here very dramatically. I can't wait to own a Boxster and listen to the music of the engine everyday :D

That sound like a sweet deal to me. Look like the car is located on the East coast. Good luck :-)

My '99 has almost 63K on it. No problems. That mileage on a '97 isn't too bad, hope yours is trouble-free.

So far so good. I am knocking on wood now :-).

U think it's going to break down anytime now?

I talked with the owner and all the problems had been rectified. Since it is the first year in production, I am not surprised that the car is not "problem-free".
The good side of it, all the problems had been fixed and I enjoy every moment of it when I take it for a spin :-)

Do the first models have halogen lights? DO they come standard?

natzee 10-21-2003 09:58 AM

I am not sure if mine are halogen lights or not but I know it is not the litronic ones :D
