Shaky n/s mirror

Hi all,

I have searched for this - but no results showed.

My wind mirror is shaking like crazy when I'm driving, the faster I go the worse it gets. I like to drive fast, so I would like to get this fixed.

The actual casing is fine, and the mirror moves fine with the electrics. So it's just loose I reckon.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as how to fix this?
Whether it can be tightened up, should the mirror be removed then put back in?
If I take it off, do i need to buy anything to put it back in, etc.?

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be great.

Cheers

Sounds like something either popped apart or broke on the inside.
You will need to disassemble it to repair. Below is a link that shows some pictures of the inside of the mirror and how to disassemble. The link is for a 997 mirror conversion, but it should give you a good idea of what needs to be done.

loose mirror

I had the same problem I took mirror off did not see any adjusting screws for the case, there are two rubber inserts I thought perhaps it was behind them but not the case they just act like shock absorbers, I did not want to take the mirror off so I did the unthinkable that's right I superglued the case so it did not wabble. You can't tell that I did it, but don't tell anyone!
