Boxster Based Kit Cars?

Has anyone come across one of these? It would seem with a great engine/tranny combo, someone would have come up with some body cladding to turn a 986 into a ferrari or lambo or something by this point...

(not looking to do this, just wondering if someone has!)

beware. I started a similar thread a while back and it turned into the WWE of electric cars good vs electric cars bad.

boxster has macpherson strut suspension and high belt lines so tough to get proportions right when trying to build into something low and fast-looking. my thesis was custom tube frame that you could bolt all the running gear to, then some form of FG body.

Never tire of looking at your car, Fred.

Hard to tell what shade of red it really is, though. It looks slightly different in each of the pics. It's Guards Red, right?

Just wonderin'..........

Great look, but the orange amber right up next to the red is killing me.

Thou shalt de-amber.

No way!
The amber looks great on red!

Heck, I'm even starting to like it on white...

Nope. I'm a girl, we know these things.

The only girl to wear orange with red was Velma, and you know she never got the guy.

I seem to recall someone posting a picture of a t-shirt with a Boxster on it and portraying it in a positive light...
I call into question your fashion sense, lol!

BTW, I would take a Velma over a Daphne any day
