I did not notify the insurance about the following:
1000 miles on new stage 3 clutch masters clutch
1000 miles on new luk's flywheel
1000 miles on limited slip differential
1000 miles on imsb replacement
1000 miles on rms replacement

If I argued with insurance and got the car fixed, how much would the car be worth?

Should I buy salvage and part out?

I'd think you could make the $4k back on just the engine/trany combo! with only 50k miles, that's pretty desirable...

that looks repairable to me - new rear bumper cover and paint to match ($2k) new tail light, new rear spoiler, new bumper and shock ($1k) + ??? (alignment? muffler, ?). take the car and the $10k balance and fix it. might wind up with $5k in your pocket when done, but with a base boxster salvage title. the same $14k would get you a clean S the same age.

part out should net you a bit more than the $4k asking but comes with work selling and shipping stuff - how do you value your time? I would be interested in a 5-speed with lsd if it comes to that ...

Unless the rear fender is damaged (what sent my car to be totaled) your car will surely be fixed, my boxster was tore to bits and the original estimate to fix was only 5k, we eventually got it totaled but I don't see how they will total your car, ask for depreciation though and that will make up for the loss.

That can be fixed. Jake's was two fenders, wheels, a door, mirrors, and so on.

The body frame got twerked a little. half an inch, will be a slight issue to unbolt the engine and trans (guess I could just cut it)

If I wanted to keep the car they would NOT need to notify the state so I would keep a clear title.

Time to get a fiberglass/aftermarket GT3 rear bumper and some new depo tail lights and off you go bro. Just fix it up and keep the toy for pure pleasure

Either the subframe, or body frame, got damaged.

Nothing that can't be straighten up. Your local body shop should have the tools and knowledge to do this in about an hour (eg. lasers)

Hmmm...sports car with frame damage is not the same as a regular road car with frame damage.
Sure it can be fixed but your car is damaged goods on resale. You need to make sure that the repair is dead on with no compromises or walk.

Whose fault? Can you fight for diminished value?

OR ... prime candidate for a track toy. put the $14k into a cage and a trailer. regardless of how much they may complain, the significant other can't resist a man who races a Porsche.

Repair estimate was at the only Porsche Certified Shop in Illinois, I'm sure I can get it done somewhere else cheaper.

Are you at fault, if not, have the car fixed and ask for depreciation. If you are at fault, everything is alot more difficult and in that case not all states can compensate for deprecation, and this service will show up on a car fax making the car much harder to sell. You could probably make money off of parting out the car, my totaled car was valued at 3.5k but mine has more miles and such and i did not really have the time to total it out. You could probably push the price a bit higher to have the car totaled if that is in your best interest.

No police report, car was filed under collision repair.

I'd estimate $2-3k for an adequate repair and -30 percent on resale value due to a salvage title. Add in the time and risk and see if the payback is there….

If they total out the car, they are effectively buying the car from you and title goes to them. If they then sell it to you as salvage, then I would think that they have to list it on title as salvage.

Now that being said, I had a car that was rear ended and when I settled with the insurance company (other persons company) I asked them to adjust the amount paid to me to cover the "salvage" amount and since title never changed, the title stayed with me as clean title
