Unhappy And the top quit.

No warning signs, no odd sounds. Searched but didn't seem to find what I was looking for (sorry ).

Left dinner tonight, and put the top down. While the clamshell closed, the light did not go off. Yes, the parking brake light comes on when it's engaged. No, no sounds are made when the roof switch is pressed for either direction.

When I press the switch in the latch receptacle, the windows will go up but they will not drop when the switch is released.

So is it just the latch switch gone bad? Or something else to look for? Thankfully I can keep the car in the garage for now so no weather-related worries. Just really sudden. Thanks guys.

Not saying that is necessarily the issue but in case you need it I have a motor / clutch mechanism I'll sell you for a good price. Let me know if you need it.

I think it's fixed (for now). Earlier I did the up/down repeated pulling on the parking brake, tugged on the clamshell to see if it was loose (firmly closed), and gently tugged on the roof corners.

Came back out to it later, the top open light was off, and worked normally. Guess I'll need to replace the brake handle switch.
