Car Covers
I have several good car covers that I have accumulated over the years. One really nice indoor cover was for my 356. To my surprise it fits really well on the 986 (other than the side mirror pocket is way off).
But when I took it off- there's a bunch of lint stuck to the top. Luckily the top was down - so the area isn't too big. But what a pain to have to go vacuum the lint off. Guess Ill need to get a cover that has a tighter fabric weave. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1399916947.jpg |
I used painters tape the last time I had to get lint off, worked like a charm :)

lint roller at the dollar store.........

You might laugh at this- I use a big pet lint roller on my bed sheets every night. My wife thinks I've gone nuts. But she goes along - rather than using new bed sheets every night.
But thats a good idea to use on my top. |
I found tape to be the fastest, cellophone packing tape was quicker than painters and the lint roller.

try putting your car cover in the dryer, that should get the lint off and then it may be good to use with the black top

p.s. I previously wrote of car covers as more trouble than its worth since the car has to be absolutely clean before it goes on otherwise it scratches the paint. But I know use it if I wash wash the car and know that I won't be driving it for a few days. It's the Porsche OEM Boxster cover. The fit is perfect. It says Boxster on the back with clear cut out for the rear license plate. You clean with simple green. $200 on Ebay |
