Try http://bumperplugs.com/ , great place to do business. I'm thinking of getting one painted the silver color of the newer version boxster emblem after my paint has been finished.

I would like a black or gun metal 986 with a red S for my Arctic Silver.

That would be original. Maybe you could find someone to photoshop it for you to get an idea of what it'd look like.

If you want a black one just go to your dealer and get a "968" badge and switch the "6" and the "8". There never was an original "986" badge. All (if not custom made) "986" badges are actually repackaged "968" badges.

I emailed Bumper Plugs and Eric can do the 986 with a guards red S.
He's checking to see if he can do a titanium 986. He's got Seal Grey for sure which would look nice next to the red S.
Maybe we can put together a few orders.
I'm definitely ditching the BoxsterS badge. Time for a change.

Not exactly on theme here but I was wondering how you would go about removing the current Boxster script from the trunk lid. My script serves the purpose of blocking any effort to polish the area correctly. Thanks in advance for your help!

That's why I want to go with the 986 too! Some guy at the car wash place (yes guilty, I took it to one of those tunnel washes) broke the rear BoxsterS badge while drying the car too agressively. So I replaced it with a chrome 550 edition badge. But I'm still pikcing threads from the drying towels from there.

To remove:
Use waxed Dental Floss and SPray the area with a quick detailer or soapy water (prevent scratching). Move slooowly from left to right. I think I used a hair dryer to soften up the glue. I guess you'll need a rubbing compound like 3M and alcohol (strips wax) to clean up the area before you stick on the 986.

Perfectlap, I can't believe you did this! Oh well, admitting your "faults" is the first step in your multi-step healing process.:

"Hi. my name is Perfectlap, and I have been going to the automatic car washes for several years now".

"Hi Perfectlap"!(the response of the ACA- Automatic Car washers Anonymous)

well in my defense it was a hand car wash without a wheel track.
Only because its so damn cold outside and the sight of brake dust and salt over my car was too much to bear!
Actually while on the topic, I've ordered Optimum No-Rinse wash wich I'll be diluting into a 32 oz. spray bottle (autogeek.net). When sprayed over dirty wheels, well, doors the car comes clean with just a few towels. I'll use this first before quick detailing with my F1-#425 Spray (slickest yet!). Adding No-Rinse to a wash bucket(with grit guard) makes rinsing unecessary. Perfect for the coin operated bays. Also ordered a sea sponge which reduces dragging sediments accross the paint when washing.

anyhoo...Bumper plugs emailed back about painting the harness belt guides pictured above $800! NEXT case...
waiting on a price for the Seal Grey 986 with Guards Red S.
