Wheel Offset???

I've read several threads on here and think I now have a good handle on wheel offsets.

I currently have 16" wheels on my '99 Boxster with offsets of 50 (6") front wheels and 40 (7") on rear. I found a set of 17" wheels with offsets of 55 (7") on front wheels and also 55 (9") on rear.

Based on my research, I don't see any fittment issues with these 17" wheels on my Boxster. Anyone care to confirm or disagree?

Tires will be 205/50/ZR17 and 255/40/Zr17.

Thanks for any input!

Kevin

From one of the Porsche manuals -- owner's I think (numbers may vary for base model -- check your owner's manual).

Starting to 2nd guess myself on the 17" wheels that I just purchased.

Worried about the offset on my rear wheels......9" rears with a 55 offset. The chart above seems to indicate an offset of 48 for the rear wheels on the '99 Boxster.....would mounting a wheel with a 55 offset require a 7mm spacer? Can I mount these rear wheels without needing a spacer? Any help VERY appreciated!
