Flywheel Bolt Torx/Star size?
 

Anyone know off the top of their head what size Torx/star socket is required to remove the 986 2.7 flywheel bolts? I have a T50 but its too small, trips to the parts store to buy tools is not my favorite past-time.

Pretty sure its a 55. Go to Harbor freight and get their cheap set. the quality on those are decent

or you can borrow from me but Ill be needing it back soon. I'm in n. tustin

Sears has been discounting the Lisle set of Torx bits down to $20 lately. They are made in the US.

I originally bought these things from Harbor Freight thinking that they'd be good for just one or two uses, surprisingly they have lasted several jobs and well over a year. No breakage yet... Knock on wood. The 55 shown in the picture has been neck down so that it could be used for a BMW m5 dual mass flywheel. I've used my heavy duty impact with no issues.

Sadly my local HF only stocks the non-impact Torx set. Adding in shipping the Lisle impact set was cheaper.

Yeah, it's a 55. Harbor Freight had the entire 1/2" drive set on sale for $12.99 on Friday, NAPA wanted $8 for just one. Impact to remove worked excellent! Even if I get only 2-3 uses out of it it is definitely worth it.

I am about to do this job today so I'll confirm later on but meanwhile...
Did you try T55 ? The T55 is included in some of the inexpensive kits from Harbor Freight. The bolts will be tight so get the 'impact' best quality they sell. And you'll need to make a tool to hold the flywheel in place.
If you are hunting for the tool online ,they are often called XZN or 12pt. spline.

A XZN or triple-square bit is a 12 pointed spline.
