Great Effin Day

On the 928 there is a fluid leak in the front of my engine somewhere that I can't trace, and a short bit ago I backed the Boxster right into my new to me Jeep. :(http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1397431573.jpg

Sorry to hear that. Doesn't look too bad. Give the Insurance a call so they can get those cars back to factory specs. Time for them to make due on all those payments.

Those are the worst because no braking. Just wham!

Sorry to see that. My minor accident turned into the perfect time to have all those little scratches fixed and bumper sprayed. Glad it happened looking back....

Good luck with the leak.

That hugely SUX.I'm mad and it's not even my stuff!

cardiffgiant 04-13-2014 05:20 PM

Damn. I did that last year. Right into the tire on my explorer. Could have been a ton worse, but was still good for a repaint from my collision guy. I almost never drive it with the top up because of the crappy visibility.

linderpat 04-13-2014 08:05 PM

yes, it was just stupidity on my part. The jeep was in a spot it never is. Good idea guys to get the other stuff tweaked on the paint while they got the color out.

Every crash is another opportunity for an upgrade.

Call insurance and the "FOX" will add a collision to your vehicle history and drop the value $2k regardless of the quality and extent of the repair, so if your thinking of selling in the next couple years, its something to consider.

There are alot of nice bumper upgrades available though in any case ;)

yep; the carfax thing went through my mind. No way to avoid it here; two cars to fix, and both will be a couple of thousand based on what I see. Not going to self insure that. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to keep the Boxster!

Ouch! I hate it when I do stuff like that (and I do it fairly often!) so I definitely feel your pain!

SeanZ4 04-14-2014 07:41 AM

Yeah, if it makes you feel any better. A few years ago I backed out of my garage down the driveway and out into the street…. and t-boned my truck parked in the street. Also about 20 years ago my x-wife rear-ended me at an intersection on ice. I still carried the insurance for both vehicles at the time. It sucked.

Accidentally?

RaisedOnPorsches 04-14-2014 10:27 AM

At least the damage looks contained to the rear bumper. The tail light looks fine.

SeanZ4 04-14-2014 10:50 AM

Yeah, it was an accident. But still……

Wow. Reminds me of my friends experience- he had just picked up his freshly painted 911 with the big whale tail- he was slowly pulling out of the lot and his wife drove up the back of the 911 with her Ford Expedition. Made it clear to the top before she stopped.

They are no longer together.:(

Reminds me of the 'War of the Roses' movie where she drives over the old Morgan with the Blazer. Ouch!
