day to day plastic window cleaning

My 02 S is my first convertible. I have read on this forum and others all about the maintenance items for the plastic rear window. My question is what do you use day to day to clean the outside of the window ? Dust, road grime, pollen and just everyday stuff what do you use ?

I've always just used water and paper towels. I've read that cleaning solutions are supposed to be bad for them.

Same as the above but i would suggest a lint free towel.

I have heard good things about the plastic cleaner product Novus.
There's grades 1-3. 3 being the most abrasive. Novus 1 being almost like a windex
It's a cleaner and a polish.

Have on 02 S. Just cracked plastic on both side (opened in ) cool weather :/ yr ago. Just replaced with Gaah Glass window & defroster. wen thru my local shop who got a deal o n the gaah site, 825 for top 765 installed. 5yr warranty, lifetime on glass. Just odered a protectant spray from pelican that blocks sun & water very quiet, night & day. I found great results with griots garage plastic polish. then I used the headlight lens cleaner with good results as well.

I use Plexus. Got it at the marine supply store. A bit expensive, but you don't use much, so the can lasts a long time. I've had mine for 7 years, and the can still feels full. My rear window looks pretty good for being 14 years old. Plexus has plastisizers in it that help keep the plastic window from hardening and getting brittle.

For my convertibles with plastic windows I always keep a plant spray bottle with water in the trunk along with a soft cotton towel. Never wipe the windows when they are dry and never use paper towels.

+1 on Plexus...cleans and leaves a nice protective coating that resists scratching...use with microfiber cloth. If you have any existing scratches, you can use a polish or what I use; 3M Hand Glaze with a dab of "Blue Magic". This method was taught by one of PCA's leading concours participants and judges.

I do not recommend paper towel or anything that abrasive.
