I have 16 more for 97-04 if anyone else is interested. If you have a 00-04, I'll still do the $50 refund if you send back the original relay.

Just curious....what are the differences between the 97-04 original module operation vs. the 05+ models?
Do the newer models operate without the use of emergency brake micro-switches?

Thanks!!

I don't believe the 987 series need the handbrake raised since the top can operate up to 30mph. I think it has one touch operaiton too. but no service mode :)

Here's a link to the instruction manual for the Comfort-Top in-case anyone needs it or wants to read about it.

It'll mainly be helpful for when you need to calibrate the service mode or if you are moving the relay from a 97-99 to a 00-04 or the other way around. Enjoy!

No, I removed that from all the modules. After thinking about it for a while, It was a bit more risky than I would have liked. You can only roll up the windows with the key.

You should implement autotop overclock mode.

If you drive over 20mph while the top is closing or opening it semi-safely overvolts the motor to the nearest position, open or closed.

genius

Right now it will stop with the car exceeds 23 mph

I wish you could hit the lock button perhaps 2 or 3 times and have it close the top and roll up the windows...and of course lock the car

Yeah, I expected that. The speed limit was used in after researching what other cars do and what is practical for ours. The 987 series operates until 30mph but has vibration sensors that can stop the top if there's too much bouncing around. As a result, I dropped the speed limit target to 25mph but to give myself some margin, I aimed for 20mph as the cut off. The speed the top sees is a result of the wheel speed sensor and there is some dependencies on that, such as wheel size.

Since there are no vibration sensors on our tops, the Comfort-Top also uses acceleration to stop top operation, even if you are under the top speed limit. I'll look to see how many mi/hr^2 it is set to. Keep in mind, it's meant to be a fail safe so I don't recommend you accelerate or decelerate hard to test it.

My testing

I did mine in a parking lot where it was smooth and straight and no chance of other cars. I say 23 to 24...hard to say but I am very pleased with this (your) product.

Nothing to do but plug it in and calibrate.

Thanks

I think I've replied to everyone from the last wave of interests. Ff I missed you, let me know; I have 20 more relays so if you are interested, just shoot me a message. As always, glad those of you who have the retrofit are pleased and let me know if you have any questions.

Jamesp 07-17-2015 03:51 PM

Shehadehd, Just installed my new relay. Took no time at all following your excellent instructions. What a luxury! Thanks for making these available.

jpc763 01-22-2016 09:22 AM

Shehadehd, are you still making these? I am interested.

CHRISP357 01-22-2016 03:53 PM

I would like one too. I can send my relay in first if needed.

EZY 01-22-2016 05:02 PM

I would also be interested in purchasing one of your Confort Top Modules for my 2002 Boxster S... Please contact me.

Luckyed 01-25-2016 03:48 AM

Best (and easiest) mod I have ever done.
You may not be able to see it.....and it might not make the car go faster, but it is a great modification.

I've been trying to get ahold of Shehadehd since last year. He doesn't seem to be replying back so, no luck getting one of these units... :(

Shehadehd 01-27-2016 08:05 PM

Hey everyone!! I apologize to everyone who's been trying to reach me the last couple weeks. I've been slammed with work and frankly, haven't even been on the site this year [emoji33].

To everyone who's interested in a relay, yes I am still making them, BUT... I only have enough parts on hand to make half a dozen or so more. I'm going to go ahead and order more parts but for the next week I'll only be able to ship a limited amount.

I'll comb through emails, messages, and forum posts and get in contact with those of you in a chronological order. Expect an email in the next day or two with more info.

And of course, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that you guys are still using and enjoying these relays. Thank you all for your ongoing support!!! I can't wait to get more of these out there for everyone to use :)

Dlirium 01-27-2016 08:33 PM

I've had mine for a few years and can't imagine being a sucker that has to hold my top down button while stopped :-) couldn't be happier!

epapp 01-27-2016 09:12 PM

Don't forget to tell everyone about the remote kill switch they all have in their relays now.
