Once again - keys and remote

Have a 2003 boxster S. it's been a daily driver since new. Still have both keys. I know that replacing a key requires reprogramming by the dealer. My issue is slightly different. Both keys work, but on one of them the buttons that open the doors and trucks have worn out and no longer make reliable contact. Is it possible to swap the parts around with a replacement key head so that the buttons work again?

Many thanks,

Carlos

You can buy replacement buttons for a few $.

Carlos, where are you in Maryland. I am thinking to order some of these as well but have resisted because I only need one and I hate to pay the 7.00 shipping for one 0.60 switch. Have you found any place where one can get the replacement rubber covers. All of my button covers are torn.

eBay has cheap housings ;)

I bought the cheap replacement and found the rubber in the original key was just hard cast plastic. Thinner so the button can push if you really work on it. Not very acceptable.

In the cheaper eBay housings, the buttons are thinner plastic instead of rubber?
Yeah, that would be unacceptable.

Someone posted some cheap eBay fob housings that they were happy with. A search might dig it up ;)

Thank you for the suggestions

Particle wave - are those new buttons a snap in replacement or do I have to solder them onto a circuit board?
