Solid black if you want the understated look.

Black with red trim if you want a little visual pop.

Full gloss black, keep the car and your caliper clean and all should look smart mate

No trims for the bright red cars. Those only goes on dark color cars

kiyakubuke 04-03-2014 08:25 AM

yeah, I'm leaning hard towards solid black. mocked these up in PS, but mine is an S with the red Calipers. I think the high gloss black with the red calipers will look good. plus, getting the one color is about $200 cheaper :)

I vote for the polished lip

otherwise it is too hard to tell where the tire ends and the wheel starts. I have the exact same wheels painted black with a polished lip...posted pics on here somewhere a few weeks back.

Definitely solid black ;)

Not a huge fan of black wheels on these cars in general, but if you must go black, the silver rim keeps it from looking so hinky, provides a bit of wheel/tire interface definition, and looks more like something done in a production facility than in a back yard. Solid black looks more appropriate on Lambos and the Celicas trying to emulate them.
Obviously, not everyone here would agree, and I'm sure some of my mods would be questioned by others, but hey, you asked for opinions...

I would agree. For me, you lose the look of the wheel when it is black, it just blends in with the tire. At least with the polished lip, there is a little definition. Personally, I think the Sport Classic II's look best in the OEM Silver. They are a beautiful wheel, of course I am biased;)

Really?
I actually had to look it up just to make sure the meaning didn't change.

^ what Mike said... Yikes

Polished lip looks pretty cool.

My teenage boys and their buds are always blacking out their wheels (plastidip). I'm not a fan.

Dark wheels just look dirty to me.

MadDad 04-03-2014 01:46 PM

Polished lip would get my vote

silver-S 04-03-2014 01:50 PM

I like the polished rim best, too. Looks more finished to me.

pony13ca 04-03-2014 02:15 PM

Love the polished Rim!!!

Barteur 04-03-2014 03:49 PM

Love black, like polish.

golonaus 04-03-2014 07:00 PM

All black is the only option

Ckrikos 04-03-2014 07:06 PM

I like stock silver in that rim type.

BrokenLinkage 04-03-2014 08:23 PM

mea culpa

My sincere apologies to anyone offended by a term used in my previous post. I meant "hinky" but inadvertently but a "c" in front, creating a perjorative word that was not intended. Still didn't realize why the mod asked me to edit a typo - until I looked it up in urban dictionary.

I find ample opportunities to be politically incorrect and to offend people on purpose and with reason. This was not one of those, so please pardon my mistake and ignorance.

But I still don't like the all-black wheels, and before someone else goes there, it has nothing to do with being from Alabama...

Davev 04-03-2014 08:42 PM

<mea culpa>

Forgiven. And I agree- black wheels look chunky.

RawleyD 04-03-2014 09:43 PM

+1 vote for all black. That looks excellent :)
