Moving from Seattle to Phoenix
 

I have accepted an offer for job in Tempe. Though I would love to drive the Box, I am stuck with transporting via truck. Any tips or advise before I pull the trigger and book? And for all the local Az owners, please chime in, would love to meet some locals. Looking so forward to top down driving. Many thanks in advance.......Scott.:dance:

Welcome to the Phoenix area. You are going to love all the sunshine. I have been driving with the top down pretty much EVERY DAY since I bought my Box in October. Winter like temps usually only last a few weeks and this year it was spring since October and will last until mid May. Then it gets hot. Think of the summer temps like winter, you avoid going outside in instead of bundling up and shoveling damn snow you turn the AC on park in the shade and wear shorts all the time. The other plus is you can run summers tire year around!

Welcome! Recommend cleaning your radiators (if you have not already) in the next month before it gets too hot. I just cleaned my this weekend and it made a MAJOR difference. I went through last summer without cleaning them, and not knowing how dirty they were, and I was running up to the right side of the "0" in any kind on traffic. I know the gauge is not "accurate" but now I am running right where the thermostat fully opens (e.g. around the middle) in bad traffic…I'd estimate a good 20 degrees cooler

Today was our first really hot day in the southeast.... oh my i felt like dieing, why did i buy a black boxster, with black leather. Haha Where i live spring is nothing but summer with allergies.....:ah:

As far as transport goes, pay the extra money for an enclosed carrier. Its worth it. Trust me.

You cannot put the top down between June-August. Every other month is top down weather.

By the way we have a number of tracks out here if you are into that type of thing.

I would highly recommend installing the LN low temp T-Stat unit, which opens sooner and stays open. It has lowered the operating temp in my Box S by over twenty+ degrees; we all know lower coolant temp equates to cooler oil temp, which can help with engine longevity.

Good luck with the move...I'm getting tired of the midwest and need to make a change one day soon.
