Boxster hood-roof

Hi is there anyone that can tell me if a hood from a 2004 Boxster will fit onto a 1999 Boxster?

If you are referring to the bonnet, or frunk (front trunk) lid, then yes, it will fit.

Only if you swap the entire roof, including the metal structure. One is three bows and one is four so the cloth cover is not switchable. The entire roof assembly is and is one way to get a large glass rear window on the older cars (pre 2003)

Here are the instructions: https://sites.google.com/site/mikefocke2/installinga%2703-%2704glasstopandframeona%2797

I installed an 04 top (hood) on my 2000 Boxster and it was a great upgrade. In addition to the glass rear window with defroster, you get a nice headliner.

I think it is slightly more difficult to install the 04 hood on a 97-99 car because you need to do some electrical work as well.

The most difficult part of the job for me was locating a nice used hood and frame.

Good luck
