This is what I did with my afternoon.

I'd say so. But the car is looking great!

Damn that car is looking sexy!! O_O

It was "scheduled", if you can call it that, through a BMW group. Having said that, all cars were welcomed (I'm parked next to a Merc -- of note, the owner appeared happy enough with his car -- and I think there was also an R32, not pictured). 986ers, I find, are often more particular about the company they keep ;) Not sure they'd have appreciated the lunch buffet in Wendover :D

I did previously post that there is a Cars and Coffee that meets at the Beans and Brew on 675 W South Jordan Pkwy, South Jordan, on Saturdays. I think it's exit 293 off I-15. People turn up around 9am.

Thanks for the postive comments.

Yeah, you did mention that. I'll make a Saturday work. We usually hit the range on Saturday mornings.

Very nice car.

When you get off at the Bonneville exit from 80, are there signs that take you to that point? Anything else to see there?

Actually, this shot was at the rest stop with facilities about 50 miles or so before the exit.

No, nothing really to see. You just sorta turn right past the gas station/truck stop and go. The road winds and then stops at the sign. From what I hear, you could go out if it wasn't filled with water, unless they are doing speed trials and they mind the quality of the salt. One of the guys I went with is a record holder on a bike (not sure what class) and is looking to break his record in August. May head out there for that. Aside from that, there is Wendover.... Which makes Mesquite look like Vegas. The girl that shot that last pic (not the snake sign, that's all me) did a few more shots of the exit and beyond. Will post later.

Exit. A whole lot of nothing.

The road to the Bonneville sign after going right off the exit. Still a whole lot of nothing.

Even after passing the camera, still nothing. Although, the reflections off the water are really nice.

Was a really nice drive. My inlaws were in town and gave us menfolk something to do.

The girl that took these shots, a true shooter. Over 700 shots. Don't know that I'd hang out of an E46M3 going 75+ on 80. Dedication.

We did meet at the Marina before heading out. First time to the Great Salt Lake in nearly 10 years of living here.

If you do head up that-a-way -- keep a look out for the eyes:

Found one more from a different photographer. Pretty descriptive of what there is out there:

I'm familiar with Dell and we shoot at the Lakeside exit a lot. I'm very familiar with the west desert and have been from Lucin back to Brigham on the old rail trail. Just never been to Bonneville. Great pics.

Was my first trip West of Miller Motorsports. Very scenic. Pics were excellent. Great to have such a talented bunch on a drive to take the rolling shots.
