Fair Price and PPI Suggestion

Hi Guys

Looking at an 03 S with 56,500 miles on it. It is a one owner vehicle with all the maintenance records. They are asking $20k for it, fair price? Also any suggestions for PPI Garage in the Plano/Frisco area?

This will be a weekend car for me, just trying to find the right vehicle.

Thanks,
Paul

Most here will say it is too much. A Tiptronic would have cost more than a standard originally. Does it have a hard top? That would be the kicker for me. Its worth having here in Texas and has value. If you like the way it is optioned and it drives well, go for it. They are a lot of fun. Boxsters tend to be listed and sell for more here in Texas.

$20K is on the very high end for this MY.

For a PPI in the Plano/Frisco area, you could contact Danny Kehah at Fix N Go. Don't let the name of the garage fool you, Danny is a Gold Master Certified Porsche technician, and he can provide a PPI to your specification. Just depends on how deep you want to go with the inspection. Leakdown test, oil change, etc.

BTW, please be aware that the 2002 - 2005 Boxster engine has the single row IMS bearing with the highest catastrophic engine failure rate.

Just sayin'...........

I'm outta this thread.

The OP has posted several requests for advice regarding the purchase of a Boxster since the end of 2012. I have, as well as others, provided same, and I don't need to read conflicting posts of my knowledge.

Just sayin'.............

Too much, you'll never live with spending 20k on a car same body style and only imcrimrntally better than my 6K 2.5.. Now an S can be justified at 13 to maybe 16k if it has lower miles.
