It's a nice British tax we get charged to drive on our roads & its calculated by car year & co2 output

See here :

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/advice/road-tax-guide/

No benefit to the car but can save us Brits a bit of cash if car has tax on it already

We pay our tax when we register the car and get tags. I understand that your tags stay with the car for its lifetime? MOT is inspection?

Very nice looking ride, indeed!

Do yourself a favor and just drive her for the first few months and listen to her. She'll tell you what she needs.

Make maintenance your primary concern and budget for it. When she's all sorted to your liking, drive her like she was meant to be......

I know this sounds like car porn, but trust me, it's true.

Just sayin'.........

p.s. she prefers the violin, not the hammer.

You are quite correct sir, she's a 2.7 and will be debadged soon, don't wanna advertise her as something she isn't, according to the original bill of sale, it was ordered from factory badged as an "S"................why.......???!!!

Si.

I think skoosh you will find that the 2.7 engine is adequate. I am happy with my 2.7 litre engine here as it has enough power for me. The S type owners would likely disagree though.....

Just try and get out and drive it regularly!G.

I quite agree, I've had some seriously fast subarus that would eat most exotics for breakfast so straight line speed is not of much interest anymore. It's more about handling, grip and power delivery for me as I venture into my 40's....... good tyres, brakes and alignment will prove the Porsche to be more than a match for anything on the road.....if driven in the proper manner of course

Why debadge if it came from the factory that way? You might have a rare Boxster, are there any other "S" features like the bigger brakes or transmission?

To be honest it does have the big red calipres from the factory but only 5 speed....seriously doubt it's a proper "S" though...... sort of defeats the idea of the "S" to start with doesn't it........? No matter, I'm loving the car all the same and look forward to getting to know her

Get my first Boxster tomorrow.......

Crazy, I've never heard of a factory badged S without the S engine.

I've got the 2.5 and love the car. After picking up my 996, I can say I've got the power bug (that's a whole other thread ), but I'm having a hard time parting with a car that's been great to me. Will drive a 986S and a 987 base, but I'm in no hurry as I've got the 911 to get rid of now.

When I went to my local dealer to get a new rear badge in silver, I was surprised that it also came with the silver "S". Obviously I eft it off the car, but maybe the previous owner picked up a replacement and just stuck the entire thing on?? Who knows....

Enjoy your ride!
