Where to find plain bumperettes? ? on key plugs

Im currently trying to find a place where I can order unpainted bumperettes for my 99 Boxster. Mine are fading and I dont feel using "back to black" everytime I wash the car. Where can I find and buy the bumperettes? Another thing on a side note, has anyone ordered the door key plugs from www.bumperplugs.com ? I rarely even use my key to open the door and the door plugs would be nice. I was going to order them today but I noticed on their color list they had Zenith Blue Metallic. Is there a difference between Zenith Blue and Zenith Blue Metallic?

Blinkwatt, why don't you get painted bumperettes?

If you want unpainted ones, try www.suncoastporsche.com. You can even send them an e-mail, and if they have them can respond with a price quote.

I was going to order the door plugs but decided against it becuase of the potential of the car's alarm going into "sleep mode" and needing to open the door with the key after 5 days or so.

My bumperettes are also worn and old looking. No matter how often I clean and back to black them they only look nice for a couple weeks. Its way to much work for such a small body part. My plan is to have mine painted to match the body color. Not sure what the cost would be for them alone as I had them quoted in on my entire car to be painted. I like the look plus it will be an advantage to not have to clean so regulary. I know bumperplugs.com has an option for painting them, but its a bit pricey. Check w/ a local body shop if your interested.

Steve,

Are these Painted or Non-Painted?

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

I used http://www.bumperplugs.com/ for my painted bumperettes. Not the cheapest, but the quality of work was first rate. You can find the key plugs and bumperplugs on eBay pretty cheap. There's not much to them.

Thumper, great looking car! I think the painted bumperettes makes a huge difference!

Thanks. The Mrs. thought I was crazy ordering them, as she liked the black bumperettes, but quickly changed her mind after I installed the painted ones.

Let me guess...you do all of the car cleaning/waxing right! If she was the one doing it, she probably would have encouraged you to do the painted ones sooner.

It hard to keep them black (per Blinkwatt) or to keep the wax of the black.

She's pretty good about washing her Touareg, and will occaisionally wax it herself, but she's not tall enough to wash the roof, so I usually end up doing the washing/waxing. (I can't stand seeing the roof dirty...I'm tall enough to see it). She's not into changing things, she just likes to drive. I've been after her to get better looking rims for a year now. I'm just going to have to do it for her.

Wait.......that may just be her plan! Women are so shrewd....
