Back to (almost) Stock Audio

After getting the Vette, I've had the urge to put the Boxster back closer to stock... the aftermarket headunit and Alpine PDX5 are out, the stock speakers, amp, and headunit back in.

I couldn't give up the Sirius, though, so I came up with this:

I installed a cradle in the 'Vette, too, which is better than paying for two subscriptions.

I was looking at Sirius this past week. What unit do you have? And it looks like its removable for other cars as well huh? Pricing??

The radio is the cheapest one they sell - it's the Stratus 6. It's $20 if you order it online with a 3-month Sirius subscription (priced separately for whatever it costs) and comes with one car mounting kit. You'll also need the FM in-line modulator and two euro antenna adapters. Probably 70 bucks for one car.

I have the GT3 console delete kit in my Boxster, so I used the panel trim to mount the base for the radio. That base is supposed to be a suction cup for the windshield, but I gutted it and mounted it to the trim piece.

The inline FM deal isn't the PERFECT solution, but if you have a MOST-equipped audio system, it's one of the only inexpensive ways to add an input to your 986.
